Descendants of Edmund and Jane (Webb) Price
First Generation
Dennis married Dorothy MOORE or Mary Cross.
They had the following children:
+ 2 M i Edmund Price 3 M ii John Price.
According to family tradition, Edmund¹ had a brother John, who owned and commanded a vessel the "Williams", and he led Edmund and family to their chosen land. John Price had no intention of settling here himself, and he departed. For many years before, during and after the American Revolution, it is said that John Price sailed between New Jersey and New York ports, and Halifax and Saint John. During the Revolution, it is said that the “Williams” was captured by the rebels, but that the British replaced her with another vessel they had captured. As noted above, this is all tradition; we have no evidence to support Contrary to what has been written, and is quite generally believed, Edmund did not stop on his way upriver at a site at the of Long Reach, but sailed all the way to Gagetown, then called Grimross, for his initial settlement.4 F iii Antje Price. 5 F iv Mary Price.
