Evandale – Settlement of West side of Saint John River, 4 miles South East of Hampstead and 4 miles North East of Oak Point: Greenwich Parish, Kings County: xommunity first called Wordens: was named for James Worden (1756-1842) a loyalist settler from New York: name of settlement was changed when the post office was created: PO Evandale 1886-1931: in 1898 Evandale was a summer resort and a settlemt with 1 post office, 1 hotel and a population of 100: today Evandale is a railway point.

Gagetown: Settlement on Gagetown Creek, 4 miles West of Lower Jemseg: Gagetown Parish, Queens County: Formly Grimross: PO Gagetown from 1825: In 1866 Gagetown was a farming community with approximately 150 resident families including 4 Coopers, 5 Deveber, 7 Fox and 7 McAllister families: in 1871 it had a population of 300: in 1898 Gagetown had 1 postoffice, 3 stores, 2 hotels, 1 sawmill, 2 carriage repair shops, 2 churches and a population of 300: Gagetown was incorporated as a villiage in 1966.

Gagetown Parish: Queens County: created in 1765 as Gage Township in Nova Scotia and Gagetown Parish in 1786 in New Brunswick: named for General Thomas Gage (1721-1787) commander in chief of British Forces in North America 1763-1772 and a local land grantee included part of the Petersville Parish until 1838.

Greenwich Hill and Settlement on the Long Reach in the Saint John River, 2 miles South West of Browns Flat and 3 miles North East of Public Landing: Greenwich Parish, Kings County: PO 1860-1958: in 1866 it was a farming and shipping village with 96 resident families: 1871 it had a population of 150: in 1898 Greenwich Hill had 1 Post Office, 2 stores, 1 hotel, 1 grist mill and a population of 190: included settlement of Victoria, 1 mile South of Greenwich Hill: today Greenwich Hill is a dispersed community.

Havelock: Settlement, 3 miles North West of Kinear Settlement, on the road to Canaan Road: Havelock Parish, Kings County: first called Butternut Ridge and named for the large number of butternut trees in the region: PO 1848-1964: in 1886 Butternut Ridge was a farming community with about 65 resident families including 20 Kieth's and 11 Price's: in 1871 the community and the surrounding districts had a population of 500: in 1898 it was a farming settlement with approximately 21 resident families: 1904 it was the termenis of the Elgin and Havelock Railway and 4 stores, 1 minerial water factory, 1carriage factory, 2 churches and a population of 500: PO Havelock from 1964: today Havelock is a rural village.

Kings County was established in 1786 with 4 parishes: Westfield, Sussex, Springfield and Kingston.

Havelock was formed from Studholm in 1858. Studholm was formed in 1840 from Sussex and inlcuded Havelock until 1858.

Long Reach – Settlement on Long Reach in the St John River, 4 miles north of Moss Glen and 4 miles North East of Holderville: Kingston Parish, Kings County: PO 1867-1950: in 1866 Long Reach was a large farming settlement with approximately 55 resident families including 9 Williams families: 1871 it had a population of 300: 1898 it had a post office, 1 store, 1 church, and a population of 250: today Long Reach is a dispersed community.

Located on St John 24 km North of St John. The NB Law School was established there in 1787.

Lower Ridge: Settlement, 3 miles South West of Havelock: Havelock Parish, Kings County: was settled about 1850: it included Thornbrook, 1 mile west of Lower Ridge PO 1865-1955: in 1898 Thornbrook was a settlement on the Elgin and Havelock Railway with 1 post office, 2 stores, 1 hotel, 1 sawmill, 1 church, and a population of 200: today Lower Ridge is a dispersed comunity.

The Mistake also known as Mistake Point- On the St John River. Named for the mistakes made by boat captains trying to get to Ste. Anne Point (Fredericton)

New Canaan: former community, near Harwood: about 4 miles west of Fredericton Road: Salisbury Parish, Westmorland County: in 1866 New Canaan was a farming settlement with approxiamately 5 resident families. Now in Brunswick Parish, Queens County, New Brunswick.

Oak Point: Settlement on the Long Reach in St John River, 2 miles North East of Central Greenwich: Greenwich Parish, Kings County: PO 1844-1970: in 1866 Oak Point was a farming community with about 36 resident families including 8 Flewelling families in 1871 it had a population of 150 : in 1898 Oak Point was a farming community with a Post Office, 1 store, 1 hotel, 1 sawmill, 1 lighthouse, 1 church and a population of 235: today Oak Point is a dispersed community

Located the St Croix River and Passamaquaddy Bay. Full of activity in the early 1800's

Springhill – Settlement, 2 miles South East of Salem and 3 miles West of Havelock, Havelock Parish, Kings County: it was settled about 1814 and named for the large number of springs in the region: 1866 Springhill was a farming community with about 8 families including 4 Perry families: it also included settlement of ?Lime? Hill: PO 1883-1909: 1888 Lime Hill was a farming community with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 75: today Springhill is a dispersed community.

Starkey’s: Former settlement on Washademoak Lake, 1 mile North East of Codys, on the road to Long Creek: Johnston Parish, Queen County: PO 1866-1937 with S. M. Starkey as first postmaster: in 1871 it had a population of 100: 1898 Starkey was a farming settlement with 1 post office, 1 store, 1 gristmill, and a population of 75: Starkey became part of Chambers Corner.

Wards Creek: Settlement, 3 miles south of Sussex, on the road to Upper Wards Creek and Southfield: Sussex Parish, Kings County: in 1811 it had a population of 150: today Wards Creek is a dispersed community.

Upper Wards Creek: Settlement, 2 miles north west of Jefferies, on the road to Southfield: Sussex Parish, Kings County: in 1811 it had a population of 150: today Upper Wards Creek is a dispersed community.

Lower Wards Creek: Settlement, 2 miles south east of Apohuqui: Sussex Parish, Kings County: PO Wards Creek Road 1861-1915: in 1866 it was a farming community including 5 Friers familes: in 1871 had a population of 50: 1904 Lower Wards Creek is a settlement with a Post Office.

Price: Settlement, 2 miles south east of Salisbury: Coverdale Parish, Albert County: on the road to Colpitts Settlement: today Price is a dispered community.
