Gagetown from 1825: In 1866 Gagetown was a farming community with
approximately 150 resident families including 4 Coopers, 5 Deveber, 7
Fox and 7 McAllister families: in 1871 it had a population of 300: in
1898 Gagetown had 1 postoffice, 3 stores, 2 hotels, 1 sawmill, 2
carriage repair shops, 2 churches and a population of 300: Gagetown was
incorporated as a villiage in 1966.

Gagetown Parish: Queens County: created in 1765 as Gage Township in Nova Scotia and Gagetown Parish in 1786 in New Brunswick: named for General Thomas Gage (1721-1787) commander in chief of British Forces in North America 1763-1772 and a local land grantee included part of the Petersville Parish until 1838.

Havelock: Settlement, 3 miles North West of Kinear Settlement, on the road to Canaan Road: Havelock Parish, Kings County: first called Butternut Ridge and named for the large number of butternut trees in the region: PO 1848-1964: in 1886 Butternut Ridge was a farming community with about 65 resident families including 20 Kieth's and 11 Price's: in 1871 the community and the surrounding districts had a population of 500: in 1898 it was a farming settlement with approximately 21 resident families: 1904 it was the termenis of the Elgin and Havelock Railway and 4 stores, 1 minerial water factory, 1carriage factory, 2 churches and a population of 500: PO Havelock from 1964: today Havelock is a rural village.
